I feel exactly the same about this film, Back to the Future and Grease although I’m older than you and had two young children at that time. I have also seen the Stage show of Dirty Dancing several times and more recently Back to the Future and just love the way certain lines are echoed back by the audience. So nostalgic and wonderful memories of a simpler time and life 😘

We always knew we'd get a long, and this just cements it! I can't even remember how many times I watched this film!

I love everything about it; the characters, the story, the setting, the music!

Oh Amanda, it’s my favourite film of all time. I listen to the soundtrack when ever I’m feeling a bit low and it makes me feel better instantly. I went to see the theatre show recently and that too did not disappoint, it was fabulous.

Oh me too - that soundtrack! I'd love to see the show Xx

I absolutely love this film. I drive my husband mad, he can't understand how or why I have to watch it every time its on tv when Ive seen it "60 million times and have got the DVD." Like you I also have the cd, but mine lives in the lounge - its great cranked up loud whilst doing the housework!! Its my go to feel good movie whenever I feel down. Reading this has made me want to watch it again now 😂. PS another feel good movie is 10 Things I Hate About You, starring a young Heath Ledgar - if you havent seen it give it a try xxc

It was the summer of 1963, when everybody called me baby and it didn’t occur to me to mind.

Learnt every line of this movie from beginning to end with my bestie at school. Although it was my mum who first watched it with me (greatly to my eldest brothers disgust) I must have been 10/11 years old but was always way too sensible and older than my years.

There used to be a photo booth on the Grand Pier at Weston where you could have your photo taken with a picture of a celebrity, so it looked like the photo was actually taken with them! Yup, I had mine taken with PS himself!

One of my all time favorite shows!!! I was older the first time I saw it, had two children but I absolutely loved Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray together. It was the music of my growing up. Yes I drooled over Patrick Swayze too and the dancing ooh. I don’t believe in abortion but I know sadly that many young women were driven to get one illegally and many died. One of my other favorite shows is Call the Midwife and they have brought up this subject several times.

Oh the music!!! ...the streets and hospital featured in Call The Midwife is pretty much where I was born in the 1960's - I think you'll enjoy my upcoming memoir Claudia - sending you love Xx

Yes anything from that place and time!!

I love your observations. I do love the film but it isn't in my very favourites (don't disown me, please 🥴). I love The Jazz Singer with Neil Diamond in the way you do Dirty Dancing, he would have been my perfect guy 😍

The Jazz Singer!!! YES!!! Love on the rocks.... makes me sob! X

Oh what joy this film is and what memories! A Saturday afternoon, my friend Claire, a tub of Gino ginelli toffee fudge ice-cream and 2 spoons! And the best film with good old Patrick Swayze. I’ve lost count of how many times we watched that film. Perfect!!!

GINO GINELLI !!! I'd forgotten that - fabulous! X

I saw Dirty Dancing at a time in my life that I so desperately needed it. I needed to believe I could love again and this movie showed me that. I can't watch the movie or hear the songs without tearing up multiple times. My favorite nostalgia movie of all time.

Just reading this has given me goosebumps. It was, and still is, one of the most perfect films ever made. My best friend and I would watch it over and over again once the video was available to buy. Even now, it makes me smile, laugh, cringe, (Lisa saying “I don’t hear an apology, Robbie!” and her horrendous singing!) cry, sing and even dance.

Lisa was so cringe but I think that's why i loved her, plus she came good in the end Xxx

Oh my! How I love this film too and have been known to belt out these numbers ( in my own space) and think I’m dancing like they do to ‘Time of my life’… minus the leap!! So yes I love to watch what you love to watch and I also hate birds flapping around me.. had nightmares re the bird house at Bristol Zoo when I was a child. A striped plastic curtain stopped those birds flying outside but I panicked trying to get out through the tangle of plastic. So much safer to watch Dirty Dancing!

I never went near that bird house!!! X

I absolutely love this film. When I’m ironing I always whack it on. And Patrick Swayze??? a great big fat wow 😮

My late husband and I both loved this movie and brought it out a few times a year to watch as the mood struck. We did the same thing with Road House and Next of Kin also.
