Beautiful post, Sis!

I, too, have a similar list of joys, with just a few tweaks!

1. My Family - both my nuclear one, and my extended one. We are a huge family, and both joy and sadness comes in its fair share, but to be honest, there is so much joy to be had with your family. The giggles and smiles from my nephews, the bonding moments with my children (few and far between as they are teens, now!), sitting and talking to my elders, capturing their memories in my mind... so much brings joy!

2. Teaching - Yes, it's a hard slog, and I spend 90% of my time feeling absolutely shattered, but to see the happiness on the faces of my class, that light bulb moment when something finally clicks, a wonderful team to work with. It has its own joy.

3. Sonu Singh - Of course my furry baby brings joy. and especially when he comes and curls up in my lap, unasked, and gives me that massage filled with love.

4. My reading/writing room - flled with books of inspiration, and the tools to make my own stores come to life. I love this room with a passion. even my mum says it is her favourite room in the house!

5. Walks in nature, spotting all the glorious things Mother Nature has created, and watching the animals cavorting around their fields. Now, we have, all within walking distance; horses, sheep, pigs and even cows! (Though thankfully the cows are a little distance, so the smell of their cowpats don't linger near our house!)

6. A good cup of tea, with a book and a pile of biscuits. I really don't need to explain that one!

7. My friends - they are an extention of my family, and whether it is in group WhatsApp conversations, via social media, or face to face, they are always there for me; my blog family, my work family, my university friends family...

Can I add, like Louise, a simple smile. It goes so far, (just like your book says, Amanda!) and can change the course of a person's day!

And, Happy Mother's Day! 💜

What a wonderful post.

I loved reading this and really made me stop and think. I like you live my life what seems like 100mph but yes it really is the small things that make me smile and I the things that make me smile are similar to you. Cooper my cockapoo and my cats, someone saying hello as they walk past in the street, walking outside in the fresh air, books …all those things make me smile

Well today you have made me smile by reading this.

Have a wonderful day

Love this post !

My little joys are very similar to yours a new book,my dog and a cup of tea especially when I get into work and one of my colleagues has thought to make me one as I am last in.

I also live by if you can just smile or even say hello or how are you to someone throughout your day you could be making thier day a bit better. I work in a school and the best part of my day is going on the tills in the canteen to greet all the children and I always make sure I smile or greet them in some way and it does make a difference I’ve had children who wouldn’t say a word to me to now wanting a full conversation. I know if I had this small bit of interaction when I was at school it may have helped me through the day a bit better as I was badly bullied.

I also seek joy in catching up with good friends and the sunshine!

Enjoy your Mothering Sunday x

What a fab list.

Mine would be

1. My family. From my grandchildren to my elderly parents, each generation brings joy.

2. The kids in my class. How can I not love them when they think I’m a genius because I can cut squares in paper by stabbing the paper with a pair of scissors!

3. Penzance. It’s my happy place and where I want to grow old and doddery.

4. My ginger mog Merls and his soft furry tum that loves tickles.

5. Cooking. Especially when drinking a glass of something chilled and listening to music from the 70s.

6. The characters in the book I’m writing. I love them to bits and they always make me smile!

7. A roll of Love Hearts even though they make me burp!

I love reading “tangerine “

I too love a good book. I have so many stacked up in my kindle app from life help books, to recipe books, to novels of all types and genres.

As I’m disabled not I love seeing how you value things that soo many take for granted. I can no longer walk and I’m still relatively young. Anyway my joys are reading, painting, crafting, writing poetry and one day a novel, spending time with my family and friends and God. ( I know not everyone believes) I also love a good film. And on a rare occasion that my body lets me a good meal in a pub with family or just with my Hubby.

My greatest joy this year I am becoming a grandma for the first time. My daughter lives in Cape Town and when she visits in November my grandbaby will be 3 months old. I have 7 beautiful step grand children who I love but this is my first from my 4 children. Family is the greatest joy of all , treasure them and love them.

Keep writing I love your books and reading your regular emails of “tangerine “ hearing of others lives is a joy to many like me who live always as if we’re in a pandemic.

Love this and I must say I love the pictures of your home you share. I don’t think I’ve seen books though (my thought this morning) I find small collections of books that I have put down with intention of ‘that one’s next.’

Do you generally keep books or pass them on?

Gives me joy? Hmm obviously my children (Reagan the cavalier included) my husband is wonderful at times (ha ha)

Books, crocheting, beautiful yarn, music (loves I a bit of George Harrison) a good film and listening to seagulls when I wake up as well as being close to the beach. I didn’t think I had many but I really do think I could go on! Lots of love x

I love this 🥰 yes they do resonate very much with me. My list of 7 would be:

1.my kids and grandkids

2. Being outdoors in nature

3.being near water whether sea, lake or river

5. A good book to read and my reading list waiting in the wings

6. Random acts of kindness, like the cafe who gave me a piece of cake to take home for my daughter suffering with Covid.

7. Time to just sit and enjoy my surroundings. Like now, Sunday morning, enjoying my daffodils and other plants springing to life in my little garden, the background music of the birds, doing my knitting…it’s bliss!

Enjoy the rest of Mother’s Day and have a lovely week. Xxx
