I haven’t eaten bread and butter pudding since I was 8. Not since the day I was forced to sit in the dining hall at Staple Hill Junior School for the entire afternoon with a bowl of flabby, congealed bread and butter pudding in front of me that I refused to eat. I gag at the thought of eating buttered bread. It’s the devil’s food, so I was never, ever going to eat that pudding.

The dinner ladies gave up when it was home time. The victory was mine

Please pass any foam bananas and shrimps my way. They are the queen of sweets along with Percy Pigs and Colin Caterpillars!!

I’m all with you for the bread and butter pudding ! My hubby would eat that until the cows come home but it’s not a dessert it’s a punishment ! But I have to confess I love a foam banana especially the big ones dipped in chocolate !!!

😂 Mandy, I am with you on most of these, I haven’t eaten meat since I separated from my abusive husband over 30 years ago (he used to put meat in my plate every day and give me hell if I didn’t eat it) I never liked it as a child and my mum used to say “if it’s had feathers on it, forget it, she won’t eat it”! I got gradually worse so that I could face even her most delicious stew. The only thing we disagree on here is ice cream. I do love good quality ice cream.

Have a wonderful Sunday and thank for making me chuckle again xxx

I'm with you on beer, fish eggs, bread and butter pudding and foam sweets, but I do love eggs, and a little meat, Mandy! And I couldn't imagine a life without ice cream!

I can't stand bitter gourd, which my mum in law makes regularly, and anything coffee tasting turns my stomach!!!

I feel so not grown up but I've never taken to the taste or smell! My worst nightmare was working for Nescafe and having to taste different coffees for an hour so we could explain the taste with personal recommendations!!! My colleagues felt mixed emotions, watching me try each sip, knowing my predicament; sympathy because they knew I couldn't drink the stuff, and hilarity at the faces I was pulling! 🤣🤣

Horror for me is anything milky like rice pudding, semolina, or just plain milk although strangely I love thick cream and Greek yoghurt?? This is mainly about texture I think as I can’t stand lumpy custard either. My milk horror stems from having to drink third pint bottles at school which were full cream and often warm and disgusting. I was sick the first time of tasting and have never been able to tolerate ‘neat’ milk since. I also don’t like raw fish, sushi , cockles, muscles and the like but love most cooked fish including smoked mackerel 😊

My 7

1. Beer etc I agree revolting stuff

2. Liver.

3. Swede/turnip

4. Pepper - red, green, yellow (they don’t like me either ) 😂

5. Blue cheese - would anyone eat mouldy bread? Why eat mouldy cheese 🤔

6. Kippers - can’t deal with all those bones

7. Brawn. My Mum used to make it. Everything about it was gross from the ingredients to the smell to the final dish. Dad loved it 🤢
